Kismet Entertainment Group was formed in 2000 by its Chairman/ CEO David E. Allen for the production and distribution of live-action, feature films for the worldwide market. The company aggressively pursues rights, projects in development, as well as partially completed films needing financing and distribution.

Kismet's first film, Dog Soldiers, an action-horror picture set in the Scottish highlands, was winner of the 2002 Brussels Film Festival Of Fantastic Films, the 2002 Luxembourg International Film Festival, and the 2003 Saturn Award for best DVD.

Kismet's recent roster of films includes the psychological thriller
No Good Deed
directed by Bob Rafelson (“The Postman Always Rings Twice” remake) starring Samuel L. Jackson (“Pulp Fiction”) and Milla Jovovich (“Resident Evil”); the biographical crime drama feature Stander, a film directed by Bronwen Hughes (“Forces of Nature”) starring Thomas Jane (“The Punisher”); the erotic psychological drama Asylum, directed by David Mackenzie (“Young Adam”) and starring Natasha Richardson (“Nell”) and Sir Ian McKellan (“Lord of the Rings”); the atmospheric ghost tale BOO directed by first time helmer Anthony C. Ferrante with a special appearance of Dee Wallace Stone (“E.T.”); the action-packed creature feature Cemetery Gates directed by special effects artist Roy Knyrim and starring Reggie Bannister (“Phantasm”); the controversial romantic drama Neo Ned, starring Jeremy Renner (“S.W.A.T.”) and Gabrielle Union (“Bad Boys II”); and the actioner Death Valley, directed by first time helmers Rudi Liden and David Kebo based on their screenplay and starring Eric Christian Olsen (“Dumb and Dumberer”) and Vince Vieluf (“Rat Race”).

In addition to the projects listed above, Kismet introduced Kismet Classics, a specialty label which has acquired thirteen films from the library of Mario Bava, famous master of the macabre. David Allen executive produced and saw to completion Mario Bava's final and unfinished film, Kidnapped. Kismet Classics is also actively pursuing development of remakes of three Bava titles, Baron Blood, Black Sunday, and Black Sabbath.

In October 2003, Kismet Entertainment Group created an off-shoot production company whose purpose is to concentrate solely on low-budget horror films entitled Graveyard Filmworks. The first two films made under this new shingle were BOO and Cemetery Gates.

Kismet is represented at all the major markets and film festivals including the Sundance Film Festival, AFM, London Screenings, MIFED, and the Cannes Film Festival.
